Changelog

Follow new updates and improvements to Runtric.

February 26th, 2026

Hi everyone! 👋

Runtric started as a Python-focused coding education platform.

Before making Runtric, we realized something important: the biggest barrier for many learners isn’t intelligence or motivation — it’s lack of structure. People have endless resources (videos, PDFs, AI answers), but still get stuck on what to learn first, what matters, and how to keep going without losing direction.

🎯 Our mission

Runtric’s mission is to make learning feel clear and finishable — for anyone, in any environment.

Not by giving random answers, but by turning your goal (or your materials) into a step-by-step learning path, with a tutor that stays with you as you move forward.

In short:
AI gives answers. Runtric gives a learning path.

🔁 Why we’re changing

Python education is valuable — but a Python-only learning platform isn’t realistic long-term if we want to truly support learners as they grow.

A serious coding platform eventually has to expand into:

  • multiple programming languages

  • different learning goals (fundamentals → projects → real-world applications)

  • fast-changing ecosystems

That adds a lot of complexity fast.

Instead of locking ourselves into a single domain, we’re focusing on what we do best: structured learning, which applies to coding and to every other subject people want to learn.

✨ Introducing: Create Curriculum

Instead of centering Runtric around predefined courses, you can now create your own curriculum based on your goals or your materials.

With Create Curriculum, you can:

  • ✍️ Describe what you want to learn in simple language

  • 📄 Upload your own files (PDFs, slides, notes)

  • 🎯 Choose your level and number of chapters

  • 🧭 Get a clear, step-by-step learning path generated for you

This makes starting easier — and continuing more natural.

Chapter-connected AI Tutor

Each curriculum includes a chapter-connected AI tutor designed to:

  • keep conversations tied to the current chapter

  • maintain learning context over time

  • focus on explaining why, not just giving answers

The goal is real understanding and steady progress — not shortcuts.

🔜 What’s coming next

  • Faster curriculum generation

  • A smoother first-time creation experience

  • Multi-language support for learners worldwide

Hi everyone! 👋

We’re excited to introduce two major improvements in Runtric:
our new Certificate feature and the Curriculum Preview update.

1. Curriculum Preview Modal

We heard from many users that finding your most recent chapter wasn’t easy. Since you had to repeatedly click the “Next Lesson” button to get back to where you left off, the process felt slow and inconvenient.

To solve this, we added the Curriculum Preview Modal, allowing you to:

  • Quickly view the entire chapter list

  • Immediately see your remaining chapters

  • Jump directly to where you left off

Below is the preview modal image:

🏆 2. New Certificate Feature

We heard from many users who wanted a certificate upon completing a curriculum, and thanks to your feedback, we made it a priority 🙏

You can now:

📚 Upcoming Improvements

Our next major focus will be internationalization, so learners around the world can use Runtric in their preferred language.

November 4th, 2025

Hi everyone! 👋

This is the Runtric Engineering Team — since we also handle customer support, we wanted to share what’s new in today’s update. There are lots of improvements and exciting new features!

✨ Enhancing Features

Practice Code Editor & Example Code Editor

Previously, both examples and practice tests were placed in the same editor, which caused confusion — users often couldn’t tell which was which. Some also thought that running example code was required for progress tracking, which wasn’t our intention.

To fix this, we’ve separated the editors into two types, even in the UI:

a. Example Code Editor — for trying out sample code safely.

b. Practice Code Editor — for hands-on learning that counts toward your progress.

You can now also see exactly which line of code is causing an error!

📚 New Curriculum Added!

We know there haven’t been many curricula available recently — we focused heavily on fixing critical bugs to ensure stability first. But now, we’re excited to announce a brand-new curriculum and will be focusing on creating even more lessons going forward!

October 27th, 2025

Hi everyone! 👋

This is the Runtric Engineering Team. Since we also handle customer support, we wanted to share what’s new in today’s update.

🌱 A Quick Look Back

We launched the Runtric MVP on October 13, 2025, without expecting much attention at first.
But to our surprise — and thanks to all of you — we’ve already reached 3,300 visitors and 9,603 page views within just two weeks!

We truly appreciate everyone who tried Runtric and sent us feedback. 💙

However, during this period, we also discovered a critical issue reported by some users — and we’re grateful for your emails and bug reports that helped us fix it quickly.

🐛 What Was the Bug?

1. Progress Logic

Because we were short on time before the MVP launch, our new feature — the Quick Practice Card — wasn’t originally part of the plan.

This led to an issue where chapter progress wasn’t properly synced with the practice card, allowing progress to jump to 100% too easily.

✅ What’s Fixed

We’ve fixed the progress-tracking logic and added a history feature that automatically saves your current practice state — even after refreshing the page. (Available for signed-up users)

2. Latency Issues

We also found some latency when serving data to users. It was subtle and hard to detect, so we went through a full QA cycle, reviewed our codebase, and resolved the issue.

✅ What’s Fixed

Now, Runtric should feel
smoother and faster across all lessons.

September 28th, 2025

Hello, this is the Runtric Engineering Team 👋. Since we also manage customer support, we’d like to share the updates and improvements included in today’s release.

We launched the Runtric beta on August 4, 2025, and we’re grateful for the interest from everyone eager to learn coding with a personal AI tutor and high-quality curriculum.

But we also learned something important:

  • Our first version relied too heavily on long blocks of text.

  • This made the lessons feel overwhelming and sometimes boring.

  • We didn’t give enough attention to UI/UX design, which made learning less engaging.

Actually, we didn’t just copy and paste or let AI generate the long blocks of text. We read tons of journals on how to make students or learners more engaged in class and factors to increase educational efficiency. Based on this content, we generated tutorials/lessons. However, this hard work somehow leads us to dwell on the long, boring text. To solve this issue, we generated a custom UI for it!

We realized that even with great content, the experience matters just as much. So—we rebuilt the chapter pages with a new, intuitive design that makes learning clearer and more enjoyable.

✨ What’s New

1. Quick Summary Card

  • Replaces long paragraphs with a visual summary.

  • Helps you quickly grasp the key idea of each lesson.

2. Learning Tips Card

  • Provides practical study tips at the right time.

  • Based on research showing that guidance before a challenge leads to better results.

3. Blockquotes & Highlighted Notes

  • Cleaner, more engaging design for important quotes and notes.

  • Easier to spot and remember key insights.

4. Lesson Complete Card

  • At the end of each lesson, you will see a clear recap of what you’ve learned.

  • Reinforces progress and boosts motivation.

5. Quick Practice Card

  • To strengthen learning, each lesson now includes a Quick Practice Card — short, focused exercises that let you immediately apply what you’ve just learned.

  • This approach is supported by educational research showing that active recall and immediate testing greatly improve long-term memory and understanding.
